Job summary

INW: Innovations in Nutrition + Wellness is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee line set-up, supervise daily production activities, and uphold department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.

The role requires strong supervisory and communication skills, experience in food/personal care manufacturing, and the ability to manage staffing, training, and safety programs across a 50–100 person team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum HS diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
  • Two to four years related experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of production practices in food/personal care manufacturing.
  • Proven supervisory and motivational abilities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Willingness to work in changing priorities and environments.
  • Ability to use manufacturing software; familiarity with Deacom is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Directly supervise 50-100 employees and temporaries.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work; monitor performance and productivity.
  • Coordinate with QA to maintain quality standards and address deficiencies.
  • Forecast staffing needs and train, coach, and discipline staff as needed.
  • Handle PTO approvals, time cards, overtime, hiring, and training.
  • Ensure safety programs and required safety training are followed.
  • Maintain operating systems knowledge and prepare required reports.

  • Supervises production line set-up including but not limited to testing and adjusting line equipment prior to operation and ensuring production line starts on schedule.
  • Supervises all production activities performed by employees; maintains a high degree of visibility and access to employees throughout the shift.
  • Establishes and maintains department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy.
  • Monitors and reports daily production results, material usage, waste, and downtime.
  • Reports equipment problems to appropriate department and production manager.
  • Coordinates with quality control to maintain quality standards; takes appropriate corrective measures to resolve deficiencies.
  • Forecasts staffing needs to meet peak demands of the business and staff team accordingly; trains, motivates, coaches, rewards, and disciplines employees being supervised; resolves personnel issues.

  • Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence.

Qualifications
