Job summary

Dormont Manufacturing Co is seeking a leader to coordinate daily production activities in Winchester, Virginia. The successful candidate will ensure safe and efficient operations, meeting production and quality targets.

Key responsibilities include supervising frontline employees, monitoring performance metrics, and collaborating with safety and quality teams. A minimum of 2 years in a leadership role within manufacturing is required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office. This role may require working weekends and extended hours.

Job description

MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead and coordinate daily production activities to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations while meeting production throughput, quality, and labor utilization targets.

  • Supervise, coach, and develop frontline employees through performance management, training, communication, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Monitor production, quality, and safety performance metrics; identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of Lean manufacturing and operational improvement initiatives.

  • Partner with Safety, Quality, Maintenance, and Sanitation teams to maintain compliance with food safety, GMP, sanitation, and workplace safety standards, including participation in audits, investigations, and corrective actions.

  • Lead shift communications, team huddles, and operational coordination activities while supporting emergency response efforts and maintaining accurate operational documentation and reporting.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education:
High School diploma or GED required.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum 3 years of manufacturing experience preferred

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as business needs require

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • Associate degree in manufacturing, industrial technology, engineering, or related technical field preferred

  • Previous experience in food manufacturing or high-speed production environments preferred

  • Experience with Lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or behavior-based safety programs preferred

  • Strong leadership, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and drive results in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to respond effectively to operational and emergency situations within the facility
