Job summary

nVent in the United States is seeking a 2nd shift production supervisor to lead a team, drive Lean improvements, and ensure safety and quality on the line. You will train, direct, and evaluate operators, coordinate daily production activities, and support payroll and process development.

A strong emphasis on Lean manufacturing, problem solving, and performance coaching is expected, with 3+ years manufacturing leadership preferred. High school diploma required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years manufacturing experience; preference for leadership roles.
  • 2+ years lean manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Directly lead production employees, including training, directing, and evaluating performance.
  • Oversee day-to-day production activities to meet commitments and drive improvements.
  • Manage payroll hours weekly and adjust exceptions as needed.
  • Support new process and product development and implementation.
  • Drive Lean initiatives to reduce waste and improve safety.

This 2nd Shift role will run 2:30 PM - 11:30 PM.
What You Will Experience In This Position
  • Directly lead production employees, including training, directing, conducting performance reviews, educating, and mentoring on performance.
  • Look after day-to-day production activities to ensure that current commitments are achieved while improvements are being made.
  • Handle daily performance through the use of process center communication boards daily.
  • Be a change agent and drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology.
  • Ensure a clean and safe working environment for all employees, emphasizing prevention of potential problems and hazardous conditions, and supports nVent's safety programs.
  • Review and submit payroll hours on a weekly basis, entering exception hours as needed.
  • Support new process and product development and implementation.
  • Develops key improvement projects and fulfills related duties as needed.
You Have
  • High school diploma or G.E.D
  • Ideally 3 plus years manufacturing experience, with a preference for manufacturing leadership experience preferred
  • Ideally 2+ years of experience in Lean manufacturing, with a strong ability to articulate and apply Lean concepts and methodologies.
