Job summary

nVent is seeking a Production Supervisor to lead a team responsible for safety, quality, and on-time delivery in our Georgia facility.

You will train new hires, fill in for absences, champion Lean, conduct safety inspections, and mentor on standard work while adapting to a dynamic global operation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3–5 years of production experience.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
  • Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to train operators on standard work and drive CI.
  • Able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support your team to meet daily business unit goals, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery.
  • Develop and implement training plans for new hires and current team members.
  • Fill in for team members to maintain seamless production flow.
  • Promote Lean principles and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a safety culture.
  • Mentor on quality standards and maintain documentation.
  • Ensure timely delivery by managing workflow and removing barriers.
  • Back up the Production Supervisor when needed.

What you will experience in this position:
  • Lead and support your team to meet daily business unit goals, ensuring flawless communication, safety, quality, and delivery.

  • Actively engage in training efforts, developing and implementing comprehensive training plans for new hires and current team members.

  • Fill in for team members as needed to maintain seamless production flow, ensuring no disruptions due to absences.

  • Champion lean principles by promoting continuous improvement and waste reduction through Lean methodology.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and promote a behavior-based safety culture, ensuring the well-being of your team.

  • Foster quality improvements through mentoring on quality standards, identifying errors, and maintaining accurate documentation.

  • Ensure timely delivery by efficiently managing work flow, identifying and resolving barriers, and promoting takt time.

  • Serve as a backup to the Production Supervisor, providing leadership and support as needed.

You have:
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.

  • 3-5 years of production work experience preferred.

  • Proficiency with Windows Word, Excel, Outlook, and the Internet.

  • Expertise in the operations of the assigned production process.

  • Proven knowledge of safety policies and procedures.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication abilities, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to follow detailed assembly instructions and procedures.

  • Capability to train operators on standard work and drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Adaptability to thrive in a rapidly changing business environment.
