Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Maintain approximately six hours of weekly Open Production Sessions for students.
  • Assist in checkout and return of broadcast, podcasting, video, and remote production equipment.
  • Review audio productions for technical quality and broadcast readiness.
  • Assist with weekly WKKL program logs and production content uploads.
  • Assist in recording and producing alumni, CCCC, and community features.
  • Provide operational support to the WKKL Operations Director and monitor automation systems.
  • Perform other duties to support the Makkay Broadcast Center and WKKL.

Job Description

Serve as the Production Studio Manager for the Fall 2026-Spring2027 academic year, with the potential to extend the contract. TheProduction Studio Manager supports the operation of the MakkayBroadcast Center by overseeing scheduled Open Production Sessionswhile providing students with access to broadcast, podcasting,video production, and media facilities. During Open ProductionSessions, the Production Studio Manager serves as a technicalresource for students while completing assigned production,operational, and administrative responsibilities, including WKKLprogramming support and special projects.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES
  1. Maintain approximately six hours of weekly Open ProductionSessions, providing students with supervised access to the MakkayBroadcast Center facilities while serving as a technical resourceand completing assigned production, operational, and administrativeresponsibilities.
  2. Assist in the checkout and return of broadcast, podcasting,video, and remote production equipment during Open ProductionSessions.
  3. Assist in reviewing audio productions for technical quality andbroadcast readiness.
  4. Assist with weekly WKKL program logs and production contentuploads.
  5. Assist in recording and producing alumni, CCCC, and communityfeatures.
  6. Provide operational support to the WKKL Operations Director byassisting with routine station operations, monitoringandrestarting automation systems as needed, communicating withengineering support during technical issues, and providing stationcoverage during scheduled absences.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned in support of the MakkayBroadcast Center and WKKL.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. Extensive knowledge of Adobe Audition and PlayItLive automationsoftware (including voice tracking, remote management, recording,and scheduling) and FCC-compliant radio operations.
  2. Three years' experience in college and commercial radiooperations.
  3. Extensive knowledge of broadcast studios, media productionequipment, and media production environments.
  4. Ability to communicate effectively and build positive workingrelationships with students, alumni, faculty, staff, and communitymembers.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environmentwhile supporting student success and station operations.
  6. Equity- and inclusion-minded, with the ability to foster awelcoming environment that celebrates the diverse academic,socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexualorientation, and racial and ethnic backgrounds represented withinour college community.
  7. Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

COMPENSATION

Anticipated starting pay rate of $36.55/hour(Interval 1). Part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
