Job summary

Brook & Whittle Ltd. in Missouri is seeking a Shift Supervisor (2 pm–10 pm) to oversee daily production activities, maintain quality, and drive efficiency across the shift.

You will collaborate with management to identify process improvements, mentor operators, and ensure safety and policy compliance while handling timekeeping and attendance issues. The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and a willingness to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Overall production quantity, efficiency and quality control for the shift.
• Attend training sessions, meetings, and implement improvements.
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase production.
• Motivate employees to meet departmental and production goals.
• Assign duties and ensure work meets standards of exactness, neatness, and policy compliance.
• Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
• Track absenteeism and timekeeping.
• Identify employee skills, coach and counsel for development.
• Conduct annual performance reviews and provide continuous feedback.
• Document and communicate actions, irregularities, and continuous needs across departments.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment per policies and regulations.
• Perform accident investigations.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and support operators.
• Report equipment breakdowns to the manager and maintenance until resolved.
• Exercise strict attention to detail.
• Work independently, make decisions, and complete assignments.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; a 2‑year degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment and provide feedback to management and maintenance.
• Initiative, resourcefulness, and accountability.
• Experience facilitating and managing lean practices.
• Ability to successfully mitigate and resolve team member conflict.
• Discretion with confidential information and ability to work under pressure while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for all team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
• Team player with multitasking skills.
• Availability for overtime as needed.
