Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in West Chester, OH is seeking a Production Shift Lead to manage safe, efficient operation of production equipment on a 2nd shift. You will direct Machine Operators, monitor output, and drive quality and continuous improvement initiatives across the line.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of corrugated manufacturing or related manufacturing experience.
• Previous leadership or team lead experience preferred.
• Strong understanding of corrugator, converting, and material handling processes.
• Ability to read production schedules, work orders, and quality specifications.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, efficient production operations to meet daily output targets and minimize downtime.
• Direct Machine Operator(s) to ensure proper setup and throughput.
• Monitor production to prevent shortages and interruptions.
• Troubleshoot downtimes and coordinate with Production Supervisor to restore operations.
• Perform quality checks and ensure product conformity to standards.
• Document production activity, quality checks, and process changes for traceability.
• Maintain quality standards, machine efficiencies and communicate expectations to the team.
• Train and onboard new team members on procedures and safety practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and support continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with all departments to meet daily tasks and priorities.
