Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in West Chester is seeking a Production Shift Lead for the 2nd shift. You will oversee the safe operation of production equipment, direct machine operators, and ensure throughput meets daily targets while maintaining quality and minimizing downtime.

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Proficient with basic hand tools and machine operations.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting in a fast-paced setting.
• Basic computer use for email and data entry.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to move materials safely.
• Operate pallet jacks and maintain safe work practices.
• Understand quality standards and process documentation.
• Familiar with OSHA safety expectations for machine guarding.
• Follow procedures and support continuous improvement.
• Exposure to Lean/5S or similar production systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe and efficient operation of production equipment on shift.
• Direct Machine Operators to maintain setup and throughput.
• Monitor material flow and respond to alarms with supervisor.
• Maintain clean, organized assembly area and support traceability.
• Troubleshoot downtimes and coordinate with supervisor to restore operation.
• Perform quality checks and document process changes.
