Job summary

General Motors is seeking a Production Shift Leader at the Ft Wayne Assembly Plant. You will supervise a medium/large group to execute production processes, focusing on safety, quality, and efficiency, across multiple shifts.

You’ll lead teams, implement lean principles, and ensure adherence to union agreements while driving productivity and cost management. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and the ability to manage across departments with a team-oriented approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in manufacturing environment.
• 2+ years in a people leader role.
• Ability to work all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd).
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, etc. as needed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain awareness of standards and department goals and solve issues.
• Build and maintain good working relationships with employees, union and management.
• Lead Lean/GMS processes across departments and support launches and pilots.
• Meet or exceed production cost schedule and maintain quality requirements.
• Coach, train, and mentor Group Leaders to develop high-performing teams.

Skills

5+ years manufacturing experience

2+ years people leader experience

Ability to work all 3 shifts

Education
