Overview

Responsibilities
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to department and job functions.
  • Maintain waste profiles and identify sources of hazardous materials, using appropriate disposal methods.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork required to dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.
  • Assist with facility inspections and maintain quality management in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Utilize department technology and techniques in line with Work Instructions; operate and maintain systems and tools (e.g., mixing equipment, scales) as specified.
  • Report deviations in quality to a supervisor during the production process.
  • Support efficient inventory management and controls as directed by Maintenance Supervisor and team.
  • Communicate effectively within the assigned team; use internal computer programs (e.g., SAP) as required.
  • Apply Lean Management / 5S principles; identify opportunities for workflow and process improvements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area; comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Be flexible to perform duties outside listed responsibilities as needed to meet company goals.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Hazardous waste training within 6 months of hire, and annually thereafter per SCHWMR requirements.
  • Basic knowledge of OSHA General Industry regulations.
  • Experience with hazardous waste disposal desirable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for internal and external customers.
  • Experience with SAP software (preferred).
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide excellent customer service; able to work independently and complete assignments within given instructions.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
  • Ability to safely perform essential job functions in compliance with ADA, FMLA, and other regulations.
  • Regular, punctual attendance as required by company standards.
  • Frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals; ability to wear a respirator and pass annual fit testing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; stand for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to understand directions provided by supervision.
