Job summary

Mankiewicz Coatings USA is seeking a Technical Service Representative to support our Automotive team with technical expertise and exceptional customer service. This role covers technical questions, product trials, and application projects for customers and prospects in the Western Michigan region.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's in Engineering, Chemistry, or Colorimetry, and demonstrate strong communication skills, color reproduction abilities, and proficiency with application

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in Engineering, Chemistry or Colorimetry preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with customers.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on the implementation of new Mankiewicz products.
  • Present new products and advantages to customers according to their processes.
  • Adjust products and colors to customer needs and issues.
  • Support color lab and liaise with production, customer service, sales and development on color issues.
  • Reproduce colors on various polyurethane, epoxy, water, and solvent based platforms.
  • Direct application-technological trials and document them.
  • Advise customers on application equipment.
  • Test application parameters for new products with lab cooperation.
  • Gather information on and resolve customer application problems and complaints.
  • Instruct customers' painters and application engineers; share application knowledge.

Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is hiring a Technical Service Representative to support our Automotive team with technical expertise and exceptional customer service. This role is responsible for support of and service for customers and prospective customers in regard to all technical application questions and problems, project-supporting technical assessment of performance systems, and application-technological project management for customers. Preferred candidates will reside in Western Michigan.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support on the implementation of new Mankiewicz products.
  • Presentation of new products and their advantages to the customer according to the customer’s processes and requirements.
  • Adjustments of products and colors in regards to customers' needs.
  • Provide support for color lab, and liaise with production, customer service, sales and development regarding color issues.
  • Reproduce colors on various high-quality polyurethane, epoxy, water, and solvent based paint and coating platforms.
  • Direct the application-technological trials and their documentation.
  • Consult customers with application equipment.
  • Application parameter testing of new product developments and optimization in cooperation with the laboratory.
  • Gathering of information on, analysis of and dealing with application problems and complaints of the customers.
  • Instruction of customers' painters / application engineers; imparting of specific application-technological knowledge.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Degree in Engineering, Chemistry or Colorimetry preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of the installations / technical systems.
  • Proficient knowledge of the applications techniques (nozzles, piston pump, double diaphragm pumps).
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Must be able to mix paints, use paint sprayers and other equipment to efficiently and effectively perform the job.
  • Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Able to stand for 8 hours per day
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone
