Job summary

Mankiewicz Coatings LLC in Charleston, SC is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support manufacturing by safely operating equipment, managing materials, and following standardized procedures.

You will maintain inventory, process orders, and coordinate with production teams in a fast-paced paint production environment. Requires forklift experience, SAP knowledge, and travel willingness.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of logistics experience.
  • 2+ years forklift experience.
  • Experience with hazardous materials preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Able to read safety data sheets and production documents.
  • Lift 50 pounds and stand/walk regularly.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Overtime may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform warehousing, shipping and receiving duties.
  • Maintain accurate inventory.
  • Verify products for shipping labels and documentation.
  • Keep logistics areas clean and organized.
  • Transfer materials to/from Production by forklift.
  • Ensure safety, train staff on processes and procedures.
  • Process orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Work in a paint production environment with speed and accuracy.
  • Support overtime as needed and take on additional tasks.
  • Travel domestically and internationally as required.

Mankiewicz Coatings LLC is looking for a motivated and reliable Logistics Specialist to join our team. This role is a direct hire position and is responsible for supporting the manufacturing of high-quality coatings by safely operating equipment, handling raw materials, and following standardized production procedures.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical and physical tasks in connection with warehousing, small package, import/export, receiving and shipping duties.
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory is accurate.
  • Maintain order integrity while verifying products being pulled for shipping team are accurate, are labeled appropriately, and have all required documentation.
  • Responsible for keeping all areas of Logistics clean and organized.
  • Transfer materials to and from Production via forklift.
  • Ensure logistics team is meeting targeted goals by verifying equipment efficiency, following work instructions, ensuring safety measures are efficient, and training current and new employees about the correct processes.
  • Accurately and efficiently process orders.
  • Work in a paint production environment with consistent speed and accuracy.
  • Clean and organize work area on an ongoing basis to ensure facility remains pristine.
  • Demonstrate a positive and professional attitude.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.
  • Able to work overtime as needed, including nights and weekends.
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Logistics setting.
  • 2+ years of experience on a variety of forklifts.
  • Prior experience working with hazardous materials is preferred, but not required.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Be capable of safely handling hazardous waste and minimize hazards by being able to wear all required safety equipment and protective clothing as required by law and/or company policy. This includes, but is not limited to: safety shoes, safety glasses, uniforms, respirators and gloves.
  • Be able to read and understand written instructions such as safety data sheets and other pertinent information necessary to perform assigned job functions.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated personality to manage daily tasks & responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
  • Physically capable of manual labor that includes consistent lifting, bending, and reaching.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Able to stand for 8-hour shifts.
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
  • The position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally, including to countries and customers that may require proof of vaccination.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines and standard accepted practices.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Requires frequent walking, standing, heavy lifting and carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
  • Exposure to fumes and hazardous chemicals.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and must pass annual respirator fit testing.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to stand for 8 hours per day.
  • Must be able to talk, listen and speak clearly on the telephone.
