Job summary

Hawksmoor is opening a new US restaurant and is seeking experienced Kitchen Porters to join the team at our Fort Point location in Boston. You will help us deliver Hawksmoor’s high standards while supporting the culinary team in prep and production, contributing to a fast-paced, inclusive kitchen culture.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate competent knife skills, including fish and meat preparation.
  • Complete prep efficiently and accurately to Hawksmoor standards.
  • Adhere to allergy awareness, cleanliness and food safety procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe prep environment and support other kitchen staff.
  • Be knowledgeable about Hawksmoor beef, suppliers and sourcing.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares ingredients and maintains prep area to Hawksmoor standards.
  • Demonstrates knife skills for fish and meat preparation.
  • Ensures accuracy and quality of all prep tasks and follows recipes.
  • Maintains proper storage and shelf life of ingredients.
  • Supports Line Cooks or Porters to ensure smooth kitchen operations.

Physical and Mental Demands
  • Mobility:Must be able to move continuously around the dining room, kitchen, and bar areas during the shift.
  • Lifting & Carrying:Occasionally lifts and carries trays, plates, and items weighing up to ~ 25 to 30 lbs.
  • Communication:Ability toclearly and effectively communicate with guests, kitchen staff, and management.
  • Cognitive:Ability to process guest requests, manage multiple tables simultaneously, and prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work Environment:While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to moderate to loud noise levels consistent with a high-volume restaurant. The pace is fast and requires multi-tasking under pressure.
