Huntington Ingalls Industries' Newport News Shipbuilding in Goose Creek, South Carolina, seeks a Production Planning and Scheduling professional to plan, prepare, and control production schedules ensuring a smooth flow of materials to meet production needs.

You will coordinate with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, and inventory control to align work orders with the master production schedule, anticipating bottlenecks and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required with six or more years of exempt experience or Master's with four years of exempt experience.
NNS Apprentice School graduate is desired.
Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate is desired.
Associate's Degree or other two-year program with two years of exempt experience, or four years of non-exempt experience, may be considered.
Military Paygrade E-5 or above is preferred.
High School/GED with four years of manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience, or related exempt experience.
High School/GED with eight years of manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience, or related non-exempt experience.

Responsibilities

Plan, prepare, issue and control production schedules with material requirements.
Advise management on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
Schedule equipment and personnel, confirm material supply and demands, and prepare work orders or purchase requests.
Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, and traffic; expedite movement of parts as needed.
