Job description

WHAT WE DO:
At Plasma-Therm, we design and build configurable wafer processing platforms for standard and advanced processes used in microelectronics manufacturing. From etch and deposition applications to rapid thermal processing and plasma dicing, our systems keep pace with your needs and are engineered to provide outstanding performance time after time.

SUMMARY:
This position must provide leadership and direction to drive on-time, build-to-order success for all projects through smart planning and seamless execution. Success will be measured by the ongoing improvement of delivery, ongoing cost reduction, and ability to implement scalability to our project planning processes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Team Leadership & Development – Lead, coach and develop a team of planners for production, material and project scheduling.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination – collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Customer Support to align planning activities with business priorities.
  • Project Planning & Scheduling – Oversee planning for complex, engineered-to-order system builds ensuring accurate project timelines and resource allocation.
  • Demand & Capacity Management – Balance customer demand with internal capacity constraints, using data-driven models to support schedules and workforce planning.
  • Process Improvement & Standardization – Establish and optimize business processes, tools, and templates in increase planning efficiency, consistency and scalability.
  • Data Integrity & Systems Management – Ensure accurate BoMs, routings and planning parameters in ERP and related systems.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting – Define and monitor KPIs for planning processes which may include OTD, schedule adherence, inventory turnover along with other project based metrics.
  • Risk Mitigation & Problem Resolution – Build a team and processes that can identify schedule risk and bottlenecks. Develop mitigation strategies in coordination with key stakeholders.
  • Change Management – Lead efforts to continuously grow the team capabilities and skills along with driving a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Direct Reports include: Planners and Analysts.

OTHER DUTIES:
  • Interaction with internal customers.
  • Interaction with external customers during project escalations.

Requirements:
What you need to be considered:
  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing, business, engineering discipline, or technical degree with appropriate experience equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ management experience in a complex manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong continuous improvement background with knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written formats.
  • Experience in materials planning, production control, purchasing, forecasting and/or master scheduling.

  • Experience troubleshooting and finding multiple solutions to a complex problem.
  • Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience working within both a team environment and independently.

  • Ability to synthesize and interpret technical data.
  • Must have strong technical and administrative skills.
  • Must be able to interrelate well with personnel at all levels and possess good oral and written English communication skills.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • The normal work environment is typical of a business office, manufacturing operation, and laboratory and clean room facilities.
  • The incumbent is routinely required to (sit, stand, walk, touch, see, hear, etc).
  • The incumbent must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • While performing the regular duties of the position, the incumbent may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, and possible exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. The incumbent must be able to wear safety equipment and follow safety instructions.
