Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Rochester, NY, is seeking a Production Planning Intern to support manufacturing planning, scheduling, and material provisioning across the production cycle. You will work from engineering plans and production specs to ensure timely delivery and advise management on status of work in progress.

Responsibilities include developing build plans, using MRP to manage schedules and inventory, coordinating with manufacturing and quality teams, and ensuring material availability.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturing build plans to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Use MRP to input master schedules, track material availability, and release shop orders.
• Update and maintain item lead times in the MRP system.
• Manage floor stock of program components and inventory records.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality to execute build schedules and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with Materials Planners to ensure accurate planning and dock dates.
• Provide status updates and performance metrics to the program team.
• Possibly travel and pursue a US security clearance if required.
