Job summary

Northern Gear & Machining, a family-owned precision CNC manufacturer in Muskego, WI, seeks a Production Planner / Scheduler to manage daily production flow and align schedules with customer needs.

You will enter orders, launch work orders, forecast demand, coordinate with vendors, and monitor shop status to ensure on-time delivery. The role requires strong analytical skills, MRP/ERP experience, and advanced Excel, plus clear communication with internal teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Practical experience in production planning, materials planning, forecasting, and inventory control.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience using MRP/ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Extensive experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal departments, customers, and vendors.

Responsibilities

• Enter customer orders accurately and timely.

• Monitor work visually in the shop to determine status and quality during the day.
• Monitor work order status throughout the shop.

• Prepare and submit Advance Shipping Notices (ASNs).
• Provide customers with status updates and delivery communication.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality teams to ensure product requirements are met.

• Enter customer orders accurately and timely.
