Job summary

Industrial Talent Group is seeking a highly organized CNC Machine Shop Scheduler in Longmont, CO to plan, prioritize, and coordinate the flow of work across the shop. This hands-on role requires staying connected with machinists on the floor and turning real-time job status into an achievable production plan.

You will build schedules from scratch for roughly 50 active POs, monitor inflow and outflow, and adjust priorities as customer due dates and shop conditions change.

Qualifications

A high-end, rapidly growing CNC machine shop in Longmont is looking for a highly organized CNC Machine Shop Scheduler to help plan, prioritize, and coordinate the flow of work throughout the shop. This is an opportunity to join a clean, modern aerospace manufacturing environment that is investing heavily in brand-new equipment and building one of the strongest machining teams in Colorado.

This person will be responsible for building production schedules from the ground up, coordinating the inflow and outflow of work, and making sure the right jobs are moving through the right machines and processes at the right time. This is a hands-on, floor-focused scheduling role. The ideal candidate will spend time on the shop floor, communicate directly with machinists and production personnel, understand what is happening with active jobs, and use that information to build and adjust an effective production plan.

What You'll Do

• Build and manage production schedules for approximately 50 active POs at a time.
• Develop production schedules from scratch rather than simply maintaining an existing schedule.
• Plan and coordinate the flow of work from job release through completion and shipment.
• Monitor the inflow and outflow of work across the CNC machine shop.
• Walk the shop floor regularly to understand job status, machine availability, and production priorities.
• Communicate directly with machinists and production personnel regarding job progress and upcoming work.
• Identify potential scheduling conflicts, bottlenecks, and capacity issues before they impact delivery.
• Prioritize work based on customer requirements, due dates, machine availability, and production needs.
• Coordinate with production and leadership to keep schedules realistic and achievable.
• Track production status and make adjustments as priorities, timelines, or shop conditions change.
• Use Excel to organize, track, and communicate production information.
• Help create greater visibility and structure around the shop's production workflow.
• Support continuous improvement efforts around planning, scheduling, and production flow.

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience with production scheduling, production planning, shop scheduling, or manufacturing coordination.
• Experience in a CNC machine shop or similar manufacturing environment preferred, but not required.
• Extremely organized with the ability to manage multiple active jobs and competing priorities.
• Comfortable spending time on the production floor and communicating directly with machinists.
• Strong communication and follow-through.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to build and maintain organized schedules and production tracking systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to reprioritize when production conditions change.
• Experience with ProShop ERP is a plus, but not required.
