Job summary

RK Mechanical is seeking a Production Planner to support daily production planning and scheduling across fabrication operations in Aurora, CO. You will coordinate schedules, align materials and labor, and help optimize workflow with the shop team to meet project requirements.

Kelieve to work closely with the Shop Superintendent, Project Managers, Purchasing, and Field Operations. This role emphasizes attention to detail, cost-awareness, and a commitment to safety and continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in production planning, scheduling, fabrication, or related field.
• Ability to coordinate multiple schedules, material requirements and production priorities.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and production sequencing plans.
• Experience with scheduling software and database maintenance; Global Shop Solutions is beneficial.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to review productivity data and improve processes.
• Strong communication and teamwork when collaborating with shop personnel and other departments.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and take initiative within established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support daily production planning and scheduling to meet customer requirements.
• Coordinate fabrication schedules and update production forecasts to optimize workflow.
• Collaborate with Purchasing to coordinate material procurement based on sequences and schedules.
• Review sequencing plans, hours, fabrication requirements, and delivery dates for efficiency.
• Enter production sequences into internal scheduling systems and develop work orders for fabrication.
• Maintain and update the scheduling database to support accurate planning.
• Verify estimated hours are reflected in sequence plans and address discrepancies.
• Interpret blueprints and specs to recommend process improvements and potential cost impacts.
• Track shop productivity, establish production rates, and share findings with the Shop Superintendent.
