Job description

Overview

Develops and implements production plan and order releases to Manufacturing and Purchasing based on the Manufacturing production plan schedule and actual customer order requirements. Uses good judgment and data analysis toward accomplishment of corporate and department objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Analyzes, and implements a production plan and schedule of future planned order releases utilizing established guidelines on all products to achieve corporate inventory and delivery goals to the end-customer.

  • Evaluates recommended order release utilizing automated information reports and through monitoring the Manufacturing forecast versus actual demand with unallocated on-hand inventories and available capacity.

  • Analyze actual and planned order release quantities by methods established within order procedure and safety stock guidelines and by applying provided lead-times, unique part/bill of material balancing and economic order quantity procedures. Prepares documentation for processing.

  • Maintains an awareness of order in-process status and resolves problems regarding off-schedule order progress by contacting the appropriate Production Supervisor or Buyer to assure completion according to schedule.

  • Understands A-dec’s global material flow and impact of planning decisions within Triton’s MPS, MRP, DRP, and PRP systems. Schedule and monitor appropriate material levels in support of end-customer delivery requirements.

  • Maintains an awareness of Machine Shop and assembly labor and work center capacity schedules by reviewing and resolving scheduling problems through negotiated prioritization of work orders within each product group.

  • Implements PCAs within each affected production department. Incorporates new or revised products to coincide with the production plan and demand availability through resources of automated files between Engineering change pending and Assembly requirements systems.

  • Assists the Supervisor and Buyer with processing and revising department documents and procedures requiring specific knowledge of manufacturing operations.

  • Assists the Supervisor and Buyer with data research information by self or coordinates and compiles data done by others to produce reports/documents including some analysis of results. Provides feedback information on forecast deviations and inventory level projections.

  • Develops and maintains the Manufacturing part code and part classification database.

  • Follows all safety guidelines and must not pose a risk to self or others.

  • Maintains acceptable dependability level.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of production and inventory control processes involving interrelationships among MPS, MRP, PRP, and DRP. Understands the impact of various decisions on each element of the production planning process.

  • Demonstrated general understanding of Engineering design and drafting standards.

  • Working knowledge of bill of materials and non-technical blueprint interpretation.

  • Demonstrated ability to operate 10-key pad by touch with accuracy, along with demonstrated ability to perform and understand basic mathematical operations. PC literate with basic capability with Microsoft Word and Excel. Familiarity with PowerPoint and Access is desirable.

  • Written and verbal communication skills to provide effective analysis and legible documentation.

  • Basic understanding of data processing terminology and equipment. Demonstrated ability to interpret, update and utilize computer-generated reports and programs with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work with composure and to work independently with minimal supervision.

  • Fabrication, Assembly, and purchasing knowledge is beneficial.
