TASK DESCRIPTION: Aircraft Mechanic III (23023):
- Leads a team in aircraft maintenance, inspections, and scheduled/unscheduled maintenance.
- Supervises subordinate mechanics and provides technical guidance on maintenance operations.
- Performs, supervises, and inspects duties of Mechanics I, II, and III.
- Maintains and repairs aircraft structures, components, and engines of varying difficulty.
- Applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to troubleshoot and restore equipment.
- Interprets technical data such as blueprints and manuals to solve complex problems.
- Requires comprehensive knowledge of troubleshooting, repair procedures, and component replacement.
- Possesses detailed knowledge of aircraft tools and equipment.
- Provides technical support to engineers and customers and guides lower-level technicians.
- Documents work in aircraft logs and records.
- Performs troubleshooting, modifications, repairs, and disassembly/assembly of F100-PW series engines.
- Performs scheduled/unscheduled inspections and certifies work completion.
- Analyzes malfunctions using schematics, diagrams, and diagnostics data.
- Assists with engine testing and final adjustments for safe operation.
- Performs maintenance on Aerospace Ground Equipment related to aircraft engines.
- Additional Qualifications: Deep knowledge of turbine jet engine troubleshooting, repair, and modifications; electrical theory; and specialized tools.
- Experience in sheet-metal, electrical work, avionics, or related disciplines, including blade blending and borescope experience.
- Must have thorough maintenance experience of turbine jet engines.
- Team leadership capability and ability to prioritize workload.
- Ability to interpret technical publications and lead complex tasks.
- Additional task requirements include team leadership, corrosion control, documentation, troubleshooting, and adherence to safety standards.
- Preferred personnel qualifications include 10+ years of maintenance experience.
- Basic qualifications include attending Aviation Powerplant School, five years' experience, and physical ability to climb ladders and handle tools.
- Compensation: $39.41/hour with benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, holidays, and paid vacation.
