Job Description

The Production Planner II is responsible for improving customer service levels (on-time delivery) and working capital (inventory turns). This role involves coordinating and expediting the flow of work and materials within or between departments according to production schedules, including manpower scheduling. Responsibilities include reviewing production, work, and shipment schedules, collaborating with department supervisors on progress and completion, monitoring inventory levels, and resolving production issues.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Communicate regularly with purchasing and production staff to adjust schedules based on machine, material, or staffing availability.
  2. Lead planning processes for your area and ensure cross-functional consensus on operation demand and inventory plans to support customer service and revenue goals.
  3. Collaborate with demand planners and cross-functional teams to develop strategies that enhance on-time delivery and optimize working capital.
  4. Recommend inventory strategies to support revenue opportunities and accommodate product mix fluctuations.
  5. Schedule and release daily work.
  6. Maintain product configuration assumptions for unit calculations.
  7. Coordinate with product management on new product introductions and end-of-sale transitions to minimize risks.
  8. Support procurement and materials management to bridge gaps between supply and production plans.
  9. Act as the primary contact for resolving order promising issues, delivery challenges, and demand-supply conflicts.
  10. Ensure planning systems and processes support operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  11. Serve as SAP Super User within your area as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  1. Associates Degree in a related field or 2 years of relevant supply chain experience.
  2. At least 1 year of purchasing, planning, or related experience in manufacturing.
Additional Qualifications
  1. Proven ability to manage shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  2. Strong decision-making, organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Excellent communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management.
  2. Experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle).
  3. Supply chain certifications and experience with S&OP practices.
  4. Previous ERP experience, especially SAP.
Physical Demands

Regularly talking, hearing, using hands, standing, walking, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, with typical computer-based work and occasional travel.
