Job summary

Global Power Components – a maker of custom weld assemblies and power equipment – seeks a Production Planner to organize and optimize schedules across three facilities. You will build the master schedule, improve communication, and increase visibility for stakeholders on the plant floor.

You will coordinate with procurement, quality, and logistics, track progress on high-profile jobs, and ensure timely delivery by balancing material and capacity constraints.

Qualifications

• Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or commensurate experience).
• Relevant experience in production planning, scheduling, project management, or operations.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and Excel; Smartsheet or Epicor preferred.
• Verbal & written communication skills. Professional demeanor.
• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation between our three facilities (10 miles apart).

Responsibilities

• Compile information from a variety of sources into a master schedule.
• Improve communication methods and scheduling processes.
• Increase visibility of information to stakeholders on plant floor.
• Check progress of work on plant floor and report in master schedule.
• Assist in coordinating the flow of work and materials between departments.
• Evaluate ‘make-to-stock’ inventory and its impact on downstream production.
• Closely track status details on ‘high profile’ jobs to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Quality, and Logistics to align production with material and capacity constraints.
• Perform administrative tasks as needed.
• Reports to Operations Manager, from within Production Control team.
• Analytical mindset; distill streams of information into useful, pertinent, actionable information for production supervisors. Astute attention to detail.
• Candidates must cooperatively function within a team of engineers & production personnel.

Will be responsible for demand planning on commonly used, high-volume parts. Work directly with our production areas to prioritize this demand into our machine capacities. Will be provided the training/tools necessary to be successful in this role.
