Job summary

Weidmann Electrical Technology in Urbana, OH is seeking a Night Shift Skilled Manufacturing Operator. You will provide a full range of manufacturing support at our Urbana facility with setup, troubleshooting, and teamwork across the plant.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 4+ years of manufacturing experience; you’ll use precision measuring tools and adapt to a non climate-controlled environment. Overtime and cross-training opportunities may apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4+ years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Read, perform basic arithmetic and geometry tasks as part of daily work.
• Able to use precision measuring tools (ruler, caliper, micrometer, etc.).
• Capable of multi-tasking and working with minimal supervision in a team.
• Physical ability to lift and manipulate parts weighing 50–100 lbs; cooperate in non-climate-controlled environments.
• Willingness to train others and cross-train as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up machines per customer specifications for make-to-order products.
• Troubleshoot and adjust machine controls and components.
• Coordinate with other departments to obtain materials to reduce downtime.
• Document production data according to procedures.
• Monitor machine operation to detect and correct malfunctions.
• Perform quality inspections and assist with additional duties when required.

The role…

You will provide a full range of manufacturing supportat our Urbana, OH facility. Duties include but are not limited to: General machine set-up and troubleshooting, utilizing safe operating procedures, and collaboration with team members throughout the facility.

Overtime: May be required depending on machine / area, volunteer opportunities, cross training opportunities.

How you’ll make an impact…

• Set-up machine(s) per customer/order specification (make-to-order products)
• Troubleshoot and adjust machine controls and components
• Communicate with other departments to request raw materials and supplies to eliminate the need for downtime
• Document and explain all production data according to procedures
• Observe the operation of the machine to detect and correct machine malfunctions
• Perform quality inspections
• Note: Other duties may be required

What do you bring…

• High School Diploma or GED required, 4+ years of manufacturing experience preferred
• Comprehend and apply basic reading, arithmetic, and geometry (testing required)
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as a ruler, tape measure, caliper, and micrometer
• Ability to multi-task and work with little supervision in a team environment
• Physical requirements – lift and manipulate unwieldy parts weighing between 50 - 100 lbs, depending on the machine and work in a not climate-controlled environment.
• Ability to train others and willingness to cross-train
