Job description

All About You

The Production Operator - Cathode will perform duties necessary to produce cathode for use in battery manufacturing. Operations include working in a fast-paced environment, requiring continuous movement to ensure all machines operate efficiently. Responsibilities include conducting continuity checks, performing in-line quality checks after each operation, performing basic and complex maintenance, and contributing to team and plant-wide activities. Certification on all operations within the Cathode area must be achieved within 12 months. All tasks are performed in support of the company's policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.

Requirements
  • Monitor automatic processes of all machines to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Perform assigned duties and additional tasks as required
  • Conduct quality checks to ensure product meets specifications, including SPC procedures and in-line checks
  • Make minor adjustments to slitters and metal equipment as needed; record inspection data
  • Perform continuity checks, record failures, quality issues, and scrap materials accurately
  • Work near moving mechanical parts and handle chemicals used in the process safely
  • Obtain certification in assigned work areas
  • Maintain high attention to detail during assembly of batteries
  • Maintain 6S standards in the work area
  • Assemble components into cells and/or battery packs
Responsibilities

  • Use manual dexterity to assemble cathodes, monitor welds, and operate equipment within specifications
  • Work with precision equipment requiring close tolerances and visual acuity
  • Wear appropriate protective gear as required
  • Record production data accurately using computer systems
  • Possess a high school diploma or GED; vocational training preferred
  • Read, write, and communicate effectively in English; perform basic math
  • Manufacturing experience is highly desirable
  • Willing to work any shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
  • Use judgment for mechanical adjustments after training to prevent damage
  • Interpret drawings and use small tools and measuring instruments accurately
  • Consistently meet daily production targets
