Job Description

The Production Operator is responsible for setting up, monitoring, and maintaining machines and equipment used in production lines. They will schedule and coordinate daily production operations, monitor the tobacco manufacturing process to ensure all specifications are met, and ensure the product meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose machine problems, respond to fault lamps and message displays, and adjust machines accordingly.
• Load materials, clear jams, and make minor adjustments.
• Perform light maintenance on machines.
• Clean machines and work areas as instructed.
• Conduct quality checks and tests as per work instructions.
• Order and verify materials, monitor KPI data, set up machines for various products, and classify finished products using manufacturing systems and other software.
• Follow safety rules and company policies.
• Work any shift as required.

Qualifications

Essential Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:

• 2-5 years in high-speed industrial production.
• At least three years of operator experience with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
• Work Keys assessment scores: Applied Math 3, Workplace Documents or Reading for Information 3, Graphic Literacy 3.
• Workplace Observation score 2 (preferred).

Education / Qualifications / Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Beneficial Certifications:

• Industrial Systems Technology – Machine Operator Certificate or related field/military equivalent.
