Join to apply for the Production Operator role at Saft.

The Production Operator - Battery Assembly is a fast-paced position engaged in building multi-cell and single-cell batteries by performing all assembly operations within the production department, including Battery Assembly, Cell Finishing, MNo2 Traditional & Amelia, etc. Initially, these positions will start in Battery Assembly but must be willing to learn and move into other departments as needed. All tasks must support the company's policies and procedures. This position reports directly to the Team Leader of the assigned unit.

Responsibilities include:

1. Intercellular welding, ensuring good weld nuggets and proper positioning of cells.
2. Performing additional assignments as directed.
3. Attaching harness assemblies through tab-to-cell or tab-to-tab welds, ensuring proper welds and alignment.
4. Filling top shells with hot melt or epoxy, operating dispensing equipment with foot pedals or dual controls, and dispensing correct shot sizes and ratios.
5. Ultrasonic welding to convert battery cases by depressing foot pedals.
6. Packaging cells with hot melt or shrink material.
7. Working near moving mechanical parts with exposure to chemicals used in the process.
8. Gauging and testing batteries as per specifications.
9. Packaging approved batteries in specified materials.
10. Maintaining 6S in the work area.
11. Assembling components into cells and/or battery packs.
12. Learning to operate a wider variety of equipment.
13. Visual and color differentiation abilities, passing a color blindness test.
14. Lifting trays of cells/batteries and sitting or standing for up to 50% of work time.
15. Working with precision equipment requiring close tolerances.
16. Wearing appropriate protective gear.
17. Meeting daily production targets.
18. Using small hand tools and assembly equipment to meet customer requirements.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational education preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English, perform basic math.
• Manufacturing experience is highly desired.
• Willingness to work any shift and overtime as required.
• Two to four weeks of on-the-job training for certification.
