Overview

Our growing company is seeking to hire a Production Operator. As an employee at MEC, you will set-up, adjust, and operate several production machine tools where tooling, setup details, and operating procedures are standardized and obvious, or operate and maintain setups on special purpose machines involving several progressive machining sequences.

Responsibilities

• Select and align dies in press according to specifications.
• Position workpieces against fixtures or stops on machine bed or die.
• Start press and monitor operation to detect misalignment or malfunction.
• Regulate air and oil pressure.
• Inspect workpieces for conformance to specifications and adjust machines to correct errors.
• Perform close tolerance work, maintaining dimensional and finish requirements due to tooling and machine setups.
• Work is usually repetitive and subject to process inspection.
• Read part drawings and use gauges to check work as needed.
• Package parts in appropriate containers.
• Clean and lubricate machines.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• One to three months of related experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to multi-task.
• Basic knowledge of machine shop operations, acquired through training and experience.
• Ability to understand and follow MEC safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., with tasks involving bending, twisting, and lifting.
