Job Description

Job Summary: The Production Operator is responsible for safely operating various machines and equipment involved in production, as well as gathering chemicals and materials required to produce products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate production machinery according to standard operating procedures and specifications, including hoists, mixers, mills, and grinders.
  • Set up machines and produce products following SOPs.
  • Ensure production of required quantities within specified tolerances, including proper film and lining, ply-up of width and length.
  • Maintain efficiency to stay ahead of the mixing schedule.
  • Measure finished parts with precision tools to ensure quality, function, and cosmetic standards.
  • Keep logs and records of units produced and document errors leading to rejections.
  • Inspect equipment prior to use, perform basic adjustments and maintenance.
  • Verify production schedule and adjust machine settings accordingly.
  • Follow all safety procedures and checks.
  • Use and follow mixing instructions as per work orders and review mixing schedules.
  • Fill silos with correct ingredients.
  • Calculate units of measure and fractions accurately.
  • Return materials to proper warehouse locations by raw material code.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions

Work involves exposure to rubber, adhesives, grease, oils, carbon black, steam, and industrial manufacturing machinery.

Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Forklift license and certification preferred.
Skills
  • Use of RF scanners or willingness to learn.
  • Maintain high standards of personal and equipment sanitation.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Job-Related Abilities
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Focus on PPE, safety, and values.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged standing, use of tools, and repetitive motions.
  • Good hand dexterity and visual acuity.
  • Understanding of units of measure and ability to comprehend verbal and written information.
