Job summary

Production operator willing to travel to industrial sites throughout the US to shred/grind rigid plastic materials. This position requires adherence to zero accident culture while meeting or exceeding daily grinding production goals. 100 % compliance in areas of safety, PPE, and housekeeping, efficient machine operation and attention to quality control is required. Reports to the Production Supervisor.

Ability to:

• Comply with SOPs, OSHA Regulations, and safety practices (must wear required PPE)
• Keep work area safe, organized, and clean; maintain housekeeping
• Prepare, sort, and feed rigid plastics material onto conveyors and/or grinders/shredders
• Set up and properly fill packaging containers/move containers to staging area
• Meet or exceed specified weekly production output of 150,000 pounds; accurately weigh and log all output
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure material cleanliness
• Properly package re-grind for transport or storage
• Monitor and perform basic daily maintenance checks on grinders/shredders and auxiliary equipment
• Report any safety, equipment operation, maintenance, and housekeeping issues to production supervisor and follow instructions to correct
• Cut material with chainsaws and deck saws (safe operating training provided)

Requirements:

• Available to work anywhere in the US (will include short and long-term extended stays)
• Self-motivated, dependable, hardworking team player able to take and follow instructions from supervision and other team members
• Physical ability to bend, climb, squat, kneel, lift up to 50 lbs./pull 75 lbs.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training in manufacturing environment is a plus
• Basic math and mechanical skills
• 2+ years industrial equipment operation experience (prior OSHA training is a plus)
• 12-hour shifts 6 days per week
• Valid unrestricted driver's license
• Forklift operation experience is a plus
