Job summary

3M in New Ulm, MN is seeking a Production Operator to join a team that keeps our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. You will follow SOPs, operate production equipment, and help ensure on-time delivery of high-quality products.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years or older.

Production
Production Operator* (New Ulm, MN)

Shifts: Fixed or rotating, depending on availability

  • Midnight: 11 pm – 7 am fixed
  • Afternoon: 3 pm – 11 pm fixed
  • Day/Afternoon: 7 am – 3 pm and 3 pm - 11 pm rotating

Starting Pay

  • Up to $28.01 per hour, depending on job responsibilities
  • $1.50 per hour differential for afternoon shift, $2.00 per hour differential for midnight shift and double time pay on Sunday
  • $1 per hour pay increase after successful completion of 6 months of employment

  • Follow safe work behaviors and look out for hazards
  • Follow safe operating procedures and customer specifications to produce high quality products delivered on time
  • Operate automated, production, converting, molding, assembly, and packaging equipment while meeting performance/output goals
  • Monitor processes, order inputs, load materials, inspect materials, and performing quality inspections to release product

  • Use a computer and computer controls to run equipment

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.

  • High School Diploma or GED (completed prior to start)
  • Ability to work 8 to 12 consecutive hours per day
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Completion of a job-related readiness assessment
  • Ability to lift/carry heavy materials
  • Ability to comprehend, understand, and apply written and verbal directions from standard operating procedures, safety rules and supervisor coaching
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment in accordance with safety rules

The starting rate of pay for this position is $24.80 to $28.01. This targeted compensation range represents a good faith estimate and can vary based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
