Production Operator

3M is seeking Production Operator candidates for Moncure, North Carolina.

Full-Time 2nd Shift (2:00pm-10:00pm)

  • Pay starting at $22.53 per hour + Shift Differentials
  • New hires start with 3 weeks paid vacation + 12 paid Holidays

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Production Operator, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Work at various machines or stations assembling product or operating machinery, picking and/or packaging finished goods, and/or inspecting products
  • Use computers as needed to run process operation, input data, update inventory, etc.
  • Follow operating procedures and customer specifications to produce quality products which are delivered to customer on time
  • Responsible for cross training and operating the mixing equipment, and/or tripper floor within the coloring department, operating in C&S (Screen changes, Quality Test, etc.) and in the shipping department
  • Once training completed in shipping, you will be put into weekend rotation for shipping coverage
  • Some duties will include (but not limited to), provide break relief for the other team members, when possible, perform and analyze results of standard and non-standard test on manufacturing process and make appropriate decisions
  • Perform visual inspections and preventative maintenance on conveyors and housekeeping duties
  • Interact and communicate with other team members regarding process
  • Ability to operate computer keyboard, sampling, splitting & grading equipment at a consistently high level of accuracy
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, work at heights, walk/climb steps and ladders
  • Employee must be able to see various colors and distinguish between colors
  • Operate powered mobile equipment in tight quarters

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Possess a High School Diploma/GED or higher completed and verified prior to start
  • 6 months of manufacturing experience
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed

Applicants meeting the basic qualifications above may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as part of the selection process.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • 1 year of manufacturing experience
