Job summary

American Trim in Erie, PA is seeking a detail-oriented production associate to read process sheets, inspect on the coating line, and package products according to specifications.

You will report defects, perform routine housekeeping, and assist with packaging needs while maintaining safety and quality standards. Must be able to work at a fast pace, stand for long periods, and have reliable transportation.

  • Inspect & place or inspect & transfer the product on the coating line according to the process sheet and/or loading diagram.
  • Inspect & package the product from the coating line according to the process sheet and/or packaging sheet.
  • Communicate with the Line Operator any defects, problems, or issues which may occur during the product run.
  • Perform specialized wiping and transferring of various products when trained and assigned.
  • Assist the Material Handler in preparing packaging needs.
  • General housekeeping of the area and ensuring proper storage and cleanliness.

Job description

Produce a quality American Trim product by following the procedures outlined below and other duties as assigned:

  • Read the process sheets, specifications, and display any related documentation on how the current job is to be processed.
  • Inspect & place or inspect & transfer the product on the coating line according to the process sheet and/or loading diagram.
  • Inspect & package the product from the coating line according to the process sheet and/or packaging sheet.
  • Communicate with the Line Operator any defects, problems, or issues which may occur during the product run.
  • Perform specialized wiping and transferring of various products when trained and assigned.
  • Assist the Material Handler in preparing packaging needs.
  • General Housekeeping of the Area: Ensure scrap and rework are placed in the correct containers/locations. Process sheets, loading diagrams, packaging sheets, and specifications are returned to the correct location at the end of the run. Tooling, part samples/masters, and packaging are returned to the correct location at the end of the run. The area in which working is to be kept free from debris and clutter; and area is to be swept at the end of the shift.
  • Other duties may be assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

DEXTERITY SKILLS

You will need to have good hand eye coordination and good attention to detail. The ability to work at a fast pace while looking for defects.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
