Job summary

  • Basic mathematical proficiency for addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers and fractions.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, read gauges and use measuring devices.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to accident-free operations and compliance to all health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements and regulations.
  • Assist the department in producing a quality product based upon product specifications; complete production operator reports with high attention to detail.
  • Monitor, complete, and document quality checks to assure quality of the products (color, surface, size, etc.) meets product standards prior to packaging, as required.
  • Perform placement of pallets, proper packaging techniques, and attach labels for finished material according to process instructions and product specifications.
  • Communicate daily issues and pertinent information to production assistants, assistant operators, operators and team leaders as needed.
  • Understand and follow all company policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Perform housekeeping duties in the production area.

Job description

The Production Technician is responsible for properly performing activities relative to assisting the extrusion operator in efficiently operating the extrusion equipment and producing quality products within a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job including: Push / Pull / Lift / Manipulate 10lbs – 100lbs.
  • Ability to stand for complete shift; kneeling, lifting overhead, bending climbing and crawling are often required.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment where temperatures that can become very hot depending on the weather.
  • Must be self-directed and motivated and able to multi-task in fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Ability and interest in working a 2-2-3 schedule.
