Position Overview

Novelis has an exciting opportunity for a Production Operator at our Ashville, OH facility, offering a competitive wage of $22.19 – $25.27 (+ $.50/hr per hour shift differential).

As a Production Operator, you will be placed in one of our various departments after your initial orientation. Job responsibilities may include trimming width or painting/coating large aluminum coils using industrial machines. Our shipping department is responsible for receiving and shipping materials with the use of industrial mobile equipment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

• Operate machine equipment and/or perform manual tasks to maintain safety, operational efficiency, and product quality.
• Ensure timely and accurate production.
• Perform moderate lifting and bending.
• Utilize forklifts, pallet jacks, etc., to unload, move, stack, and load materials.
• Comply with plant policies, safety, housekeeping, and environmental programs.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holiday shifts as the plant operates 365 days a year.
• Dependable team-player with initiative.
• Basic computer, math, and reading skills.
• Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to handle paint and coater solvents safely.
• Comfortable working in an industrial environment.
• Ability to climb equipment, walk, kneel, stoop, bend, drive carts, reach, and climb stairs as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1+ years of experience in production or manufacturing, or equivalent education and experience.
• Ability to operate powered industrial trucks (e.g., forklift).

Location Profile

Established in 1971, the Ashville facility is an aluminum finishing plant with coating capabilities. It processes recycled material into finished aluminum sheets used in gutters, downspouts, siding, roofing panels, and more. Employing around 200 people, Ashville supports the local community through volunteer initiatives promoting safety and education.
