PPG in Alexander, AR is hiring a Production Operator for the 2nd shift (2:00 PM–12:30 AM). Training on the 1st shift (4:00 AM–2:30 PM) for at least six weeks will be provided. You will read and interpret production orders, measure materials, operate mixing equipment, document batch results, and maintain a safe, clean work area.

The role directly impacts product quality and customer satisfaction. Pay starts at $22.69 per hour with a $0.95 shift differential.

  • Measure and weigh raw materials accurately according to established recipes.
  • Operate mixing equipment, including mixers, mills, and pumps, to produce paint batches.
  • Document all batch production processes and quality control results accurately.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment always.
  • Actively communicate with supervisors and team members regarding batch status, issues, or deviations.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and company policies without exception.

Key Responsibilities

Physical requirements:

Stand for long periods of time. Ability to navigate stairs, bend, reach.

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy materials or equipment, often weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Endurance to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks without fatigue.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and machinery, requiring good hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to manipulate small parts and components accurately.
  • Capability to move around the production area, which may involve bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to navigate equipment and workspaces safely.
  • Good coordination to operate machinery and perform tasks that require simultaneous use of hands and feet.
  • Ability to work in various environmental conditions, such as heat, cold, or humidity, depending on the manufacturing setting.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to respond to emergency situations, which may require quick physical responses
  • While not strictly physical, the ability to work collaboratively with others and communicate effectively is essential in a batch‑making environment.
