Job summary

PPG in Ohio is immediately hiring for an hourly production worker. The role involves following established procedures, loading materials, operating and maintaining production equipment, and inspecting materials for quality on a 4-day shift (Monday through Thursday) from 6:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m. Ideal candidates demonstrate reliability, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and a good attendance/safety record while following 5-S standards to improve efficiency and safety on the line.

Qualifications

• Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
• Stand, walk, bend and reach for extended periods.
• Reliable with consistent attendance according to policy.
• Mechanically inclined with basic math and troubleshooting.
• Adheres to company policies and makes independent decisions.
• Strong eye for detail and ability to detect inconsistencies.
• Supports 5-S standards on the line for safety and efficiency.
• Willing to work overtime as needed.
• Maintains good attendance and safety record.

Primary Responsibilities

• Follow established procedures and guidelines to form a variety of simple, manual tasks that form part of a production process.
• Load materials into production machines.
• Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment.
• Inspect raw materials and finished products for quality.
• Remove, pack, and sort raw materials or finished products.
• Collect, and dispose of garbage and production waste according to the organization's waste removal and recycling policies.
• Clean production equipment and work areas.

Qualifications

• Able to repeatedly lift to 50lbs within a scheduled shift.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
• Proven history as being reliable and consistent with following attendance policies.
• Mechanically inclined with math and troubleshooting skills.
• Can make independent decisions that follow company policies and procedures.
• Ability to detect inconsistencies and a keen eye for details.
• Promote and utilize 5-S standards for the line to improve efficiency, cleanliness and safety.
• Must be able to work overtime as needed.
• Have good attendance and safety record.
