Emerson College in Boston seeks a Production Operations Coordinator to oversee day-to-day venue operations across MAV theaters. As Technical Supervisor on Duty, you will manage on-site operations, coordinate staffing, and ensure safe, high-quality productions.
You will work with Production Events and MAV Production Management to schedule intermittent staff and contractors, handle gear inventories, and respond quickly to technical issues.

Reporting to the Majestic and Tufte Production Manager, the Production Operations Coordinator coordinates and assists with venue operations related to the day‑to‑day use of all of the Media and Arts Ventures (MAV) theatrical venues. They serve as the Technical Supervisor on Duty (TSoD), supervising the day‑to‑day use and technical systems of the MAV managed theater facilities. Working with Media and Arts Ventures Production staff, the Production Operations Coordinator helps provide superior production values in MAV venues while ensuring safe working equipment and practices. They collaborate with the Production Events Department and MAV Production Management to schedule intermittent and contract labor based on the needs of internal and external events and productions. The Production Operations Coordinator plans and executes projects independently with limited supervision and solves a variety of technical problems, often adjusting methods on the fly.
Associate’s Degree or 2 years’ experience in theatrical supervision and crew management required. OSHA 30 certification or have the ability to become certified within 3 months of hire date required.
Exposure to noise, dust, heat, chemicals, fumes, etc. Working at heights and various stage elevations.
