Job summary

Resource Label Group in Wood Dale, IL is seeking a Production Manager to direct the Deco Label facility’s operations, drive a proactive safety culture, and lead the Production teams. You will coordinate with maintenance, procurement and QA to optimize resources and ensure quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a minimum of six years leading production teams, experience with Lean Six Sigma, and the ability to plan, analyze data, and implement cost-saving measures.

Qualifications

• A minimum six (6) related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Position may require a Lift Truck Operator’s Certification.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Must have a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Work, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Confers with management to establish production and quality standards, budget and cost controls and to obtain data on products.
• Plans and directs production activities and establishes priorities for products.
• Coordinates production with procurement, maintenance and quality control for optimum utilization of resources.
• Reviews production, quality control and maintenance reports to determine causes of nonconformity with specs.
• Develops and implements operating methods to eliminate problems and improve quality.
• Revises production schedules and priorities due to equipment failure or problems.
• Consults with engineering to modify machines and equipment to improve production and quality.
