American Products, Inc. (API) is looking for a Production Manager for a very busy, fast paced, manufacturing / job shop environment located in Oldsmar / West Tampa, Fl.

About the Role:

Our production manager will both manage and work hands-on in our offices and facilities. On a typical day, you could be creating the production schedule, creating standard operating procedures, shipping, purchasing, receiving, pulling materials, moving materials, creating work orders, packing, etc.

Our manufacturing facilities include:

• sheet metal fabrication (brake and shear equipment)
• powder coating
• painting
• welding and assembly
• waterjet and CNC fabrication
• extensive inventory comprised of extrusions, metal tubes and angles, sheet metal, door hardware, etc.
• various metal fabrication / metal assembly equipment / other departments

Production Manager duties will be both office and shop oriented. Duties will include a wide variety of responsibilities such as:

• Creating production schedules for all the different manufacturing departments
• Scheduling work throughout the job shop departments
• Creating very detailed work orders and bills of materials
• Oversight of the shop staff to ensure they are on schedule, productive and following proper processes and procedures
• Obtaining and entering production updates through the day
• Troubleshooting and hands on assistance in the metal fabrication shop
• Organize workflow to meet specifications and deadlines
• Monitor production to increase productivity, resolve issues, etc.
• Creating detailed standard operating procedures
• Holding regular training and safety meetings
• Purchasing
• Reviewing product orders and pulling materials to ship
• Conduct quality control of shipments prior to shipping
• Assist your team hands-on if any issues arise or extra help is needed
• Other duties as required

To be a successful Production Manager at API, you must have:

• Scheduling experience
• Ability to read blueprints
• Be a team player and able to work hands-on alongside your team
• Be used to working at a very busy manufacturing facility
• Be flexible and a problem solver due to issues that may happen in the field, etc.
• Have a sense of urgency in completing tasks due to volume of projects and short construction deadlines
