Department/Location of Position:Applicants should reside in the Western MO region – around St. Joseph, MO – or be willing to relocate.
Nature of Position:
JBS Live Pork, LLC has an opportunity available for a Remote Production Manager in Western Missouri (Tarkio, MO and Marshall, MO), reporting to Dan Sprague, Live Pork Regional Director. The position has accountability for all production and related activities at assigned sow production facilities within the region of JBS Live Pork.
Essential Functions:

- Responsible for focusing efforts on reducing costs and increasing throughput.
- Manage operations in support of the field manager or in their absence.
- Execute yearly production output budgets (weaned pigs), expense budgets, and capital spending budgets.
- Communicate production status to the Regional Director and provide a written plan for overall improvement.
- Facilitate the use of Standard Operating Procedures.
- Influence change through education at all levels and ensure new habits are formed.
- Supervise and be responsible for the actions of direct reports.
- Coordinate responses to external and internal audits related to safety, electricity, maintenance, housekeeping, swine handling, bio-security, and general production.
- Work with Maintenance Manager to ensure timely maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of facilities.
- Maintain data integrity of production record-keeping systems.
- Ensure products meet quality specifications and control programs.
- Recommend and implement changes to Sow Farm Manual and SOPs.
- Participate in employee training on SOPs, biosecurity, and safety, documenting progress.
- Engage actively in safety programs, enforce policies, and provide ongoing training.
- Coordinate animal movements, including transport of gilts and wean pig sales.
- Report environmental measures accurately and communicate environmental concerns.
- Oversee feed management, including ordering and bin management, and collaborate with the feed department.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Job Qualifications:
- BS/BA degree in Agriculture or related field, with 5 years’ experience in commercial swine production.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid MVR.
- Extensive knowledge of sow records and related software.
- PQA certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
- Fluent in English, both oral and written.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work safely in physically demanding environments, lift up to 50 pounds, and handle live animals.
- Adaptability to extreme weather conditions.
- Exposure to odors, dust, and gases with proper safety procedures.
- Regular travel and up to 20% overnight travel.
- Willingness to be on call 24/7, excluding vacation.
- Longer hours than subordinate employees may require.
