Job description

Overview

The Production Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of print production tasks, including mechanical updates, proofing, and asset organization. This role ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all printed deliverables and supports internal and external stakeholders in delivering high-quality results.

Responsibilities

Proofing & Mechanical Updates

  • Manage change requests and updates to mechanical files, ensuring alignment with brand and production standards.
  • Receive and interpret design turnovers to develop accurate, production-ready mechanicals aligned with print specifications and brand standards, ready for vendor distribution.
  • Coordinate and route proofs for approvals, communicating feedback across departments and to vendors.

Physical & Digital Asset Organization

  • Organize and archive physical proofs and color standards to support reference and consistency.
  • Support internal organization of digital assets including Brandfolder uploads, naming conventions, and metadata tagging for easy search and access.

Color & Quality Support

  • Assist in color evaluation during proofing and preproduction, ensuring fidelity to brand guidelines and consistency across materials.
  • Participate in quality control reviews, ensuring all deliverables meet defined standards before production release.

Vendor & Internal Coordination

  • Support communication with vendors regarding production specs, delivery timelines, and sample approvals.
  • Work directly with vendors to create physical comps and mockups for review by internal teams, including marketing, creative, and leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (design, marketing, production) to ensure deliverables are accurate and on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Print Production, or a related field.
  • 4–6 years of experience in print production or prepress, preferably in a fast-paced consumer brand or agency environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office, management systems (e.g. webcenter, smartsheet).
  • Familiarity with proofing standards and color evaluation.
  • Detail-oriented with strong project coordination, time management, and communication skills.
  • Experience with digital asset management systems (e.g., Brandfolder) and production documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple timelines and adapt quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A problem-solving, critical-thinking, team player and self-starter.
  • Ability to work in office 2 days a week (Tuesday & Wednesday).

Preferred Attributes

  • Experience in the beauty, personal care, or CPG industry.
  • Background in print production is a must.
  • Highly collaborative with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
  • Understanding for color innovation
