Job summary

PureStar is seeking an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to lead the daily operations, oversee safety and productivity, and drive KPI results in a laundry environment. You will hire, train, and coach staff, coordinate with transportation and service teams, and ensure quality standards are met.

The role requires strong organizational skills, a proactive approach to safety, and the ability to manage overtime and labor costs while meeting production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (or equivalent), higher education preferred.
• Organized, paying great attention to detail.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience or 5 years of practical work experience in housekeeping and/or laundry background, preferred.
• Multilingual, a plus.
• Flexible schedule including days/nights, weekends, and holidays

Responsibilities

• Direct the Production Shift and projects; communicate and manage KPI and safety metrics, financial and labor results and operational reporting.
• Prioritize and plan daily workflow based upon business requirements and goals.
• Hire and train new Production employees and ensure proper orientation and training.
• Inspect for quality and cleanliness; rework items not meeting quality standards.
• Manage employee performance, coaching, discipline, and terminations as needed with HR support.
• Coordinate communication between production, weighmasters, and dispatchers; report delays promptly.
• Report equipment problems to technicians and ensure resolution.
• Assist workers and perform supervised operations to meet goals.
• Develop schedules to control overtime and manage labor costs against KPIs and sales forecasts.
• Maintain safety as the top priority and ensure OSHA compliance and PPE usage.
• Gain proficiency in area discipline and related activities.
• Oversee production team activities and monitor progress toward goals.
• Inform management of problematic laundry operations or equipment issues.
• Maintain inventory of supplies and required goods for scheduled tasks.
• Maintain daily activity and productivity reports in designated systems.
• Contribute to incident reports affecting safety, productivity, or quality.
• Ensure equipment operates properly and safety procedures are followed.
• Keep production area clean before and after shifts.
• Perform other duties as required.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Direct the Production Shift and projects; communicate and manage KPI and safety metrics, financial and labor results and operational reporting that may include other departments.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prioritize and plan daily workflow based upon business requirements and goals set.
• Hire and train new Production employees, ensuring the orientation and proper training of all new workers by demonstrating and explaining operating techniques to improve production and maintain workflow.
• Inspect for quality and cleanliness, ensures those items not meeting quality standards are sent for stain treatment, discarding and others.
• Ensure adequate performance management of all employees including affirmations, coaching, counseling, discipline, and terminations as required in a timely manner, resolve any Production personnel problems with the support of Human Resources.
• Ensure communication and timing is coordinated between production, weighmasters, and dispatchers; communicate delays to Transportation and Service teams immediately.
• Communicate any equipment problems to technicians in a timely manner and follow through to ensure those problems have been addressed and resolved.
• On occasion, assists workers and performs any of the operations supervised to maintain the production goals.
• Develop schedules and workflow to control overtime, manage labor costs and meet productivity KPIs and customer expectations with sales forecasts, plant and employee capacity and new business opportunities.
• Preventing accidents is to be the highest priority.
• Ensure strict compliance with all safety standards and OSHA regulations with regards to training, the wearing of PPE, etc. including verifying sufficient inventory.
• Gain full proficiency in a specific area of discipline and broad range of activities related to the job.
• Oversee, monitor, and coordinate production team activities, giving importance to individual member's and overall team's achievement of established goals.
• Inform Manager of any problematic situations related to laundry operations including equipment.
• Maintain sufficient inventory of supplies, goods and products required to complete the scheduled work assignments effectively and efficiently.
• Maintain daily activity and productivity reports using designated systems including productivity standards and hourly reports.
• Contribute to incident reports for any issues that affect safety, productivity or quality and submits to Manager on duty.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly and that all safety procedures are followed.
• Responsible for maintaining production area clean including pre- and post-shift.
• Perform other duties as required.
