Job description

Position Summary

The Production Manager will be the on‑site leader for the production operation. He/She is responsible for the overall management of the Laundry Operations Department, coordinating and supporting all departmental activities including financial responsibility.

The manager works with all levels of facility staff on matters related to cleanliness, ensures that all production is completed safely and effectively, and delivers linen that meets or exceeds client expectations.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Develop and recommend methodologies that ensure the department operates within budget; evaluate and justify supply and labor usage to meet budgetary metrics.
  • Provide completed reports to document operational and financial performance.
Operational Excellence
  • Demonstrate quality leadership and pursue excellence in safety.
  • Act as a positive role model; proactively achieve facility goals and add value to committees, meetings, and activities.
  • Partner with the chief engineer to oversee production activities and maintain a safe, clean, orderly environment.
  • Develop total quality management processes through facility rounding; interview candidates for openings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of EEO policy.
  • Promote United Hospitality’s culture, values, and management philosophy.
People Management
  • Coach management and hourly employees.
  • Encourage and nurture associate creativity and innovation.
  • Maintain performance appraisals for staff on a timely and accurate basis; encourage participation in training, education, and self‑development.
  • Have prior laundry experience.
Administration
  • Communicate high‑level information to managers/directors.
  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for departmental operations.
Other

Regular attendance is essential to successful performance. Employees with irregular attendance may be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination. Due to the cyclical nature of the laundry/hospitality industry, varying schedules may be required. Attendance at scheduled training and meetings is required.

Upon employment, all employees must fully comply with rules and regulations for safe and effective operation of the laundry facilities. Violations may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.
