Job Summary

Leads bakery operations, directly and through subordinates, in Production, Quality, and Sanitation to achieve all Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Financial goals in support of the Company Values of People, Product Quality, and Profit. This position is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the production departments.

Responsibilities
  • Execute plant-specific vision and mission to assure continuous improvement and alignment with the Enterprise vision for Production Department.
  • Direct and oversee production supervisors and their roles and responsibilities throughout the day.
  • Drive employee engagement, training, and development to maximize manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity goal attainment.
  • Effectively communicate results and action plans to all employees and managers.
  • Fill in as Plant Manager during short-term absences.
  • Collaborate with production planning and materials management to optimize scheduled attainment and customer service.
  • Work with HR to address and resolve employee issues or concerns.
  • Partner with finance to create and manage production and capital budgets.
  • Implement cost-saving measures related to crewing, standards, and yields.
  • Ensure plant operations are conducted safely and in compliance with standards.
  • Meet or exceed all quality and regulatory standards and policies.
  • Collaborate with R&D on product development and plant trials.
  • Develop and monitor production budgets for compliance.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant 4-year degree
  • At least 5 years of related food manufacturing experience
  • Strong analysis and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with problem-solving tools like FMECA, RCA, SPC
  • Good social skills and etiquette for professional settings
  • Basic mathematical and statistical skills
Physical Demands

Must be able to lift 25 pounds, walk through a manufacturing plant, and sit at a desk for extended periods. Good vision and hearing are required. May need to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl occasionally.

Work Conditions

This role operates in a production office environment, with occasional exposure to noise, dust, fumes, and odors. Standard office equipment is used regularly.
