Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking a Machine Operator at our Vance, AL plant. The role involves operating a computer-controlled production system, performing routine testing and calibrations, and maintaining machine safety and cleanliness throughout the shift.

You will support daily production with a focus on quality, accuracy of records, and timely setup of equipment. Overtime, weekends, and holidays may be required as needed to meet production targets.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year production plant experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow directions in English.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer controlled production system.
• Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision.
• Maintain good housekeeping standards.
• Complete daily job checklists and equipment checks/calibrations.
• Maintain records of materials, samples and operations.
• Operate a forklift to transport materials.
• Perform safety audits on equipment.
• Set up machines at shift start and calibrate for production.
• Monitor machines and troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure regular maintenance procedures are followed.
