Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro in Groveland, FL is seeking a Machine Operator to join our production team. This role operates a computer controlled production system for multiple raw material ingredients, ensuring proper setup and calibration at shift changes, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

You’ll perform daily maintenance, record materials and equipment data, and tackle operational challenges with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of production plant experience preferred.
• Able to read English and follow directions.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in dusty, hot/cold environments.
• Willing to work mandatory overtime including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer controlled production system for multiple raw material ingredients and processed in a mix room.
• Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision.
• Maintain good housekeeping and complete daily job checklists & equipment checks/calibrations.
• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, samples & equipment operations.
• Operate a forklift to transport materials.
• Set up machines at the beginning of shift to ensure proper working order.
• Perform testing procedures to ensure machines work optimally during production.
• Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift.
• Feed information through the machine setup box for speed, shapes and sizes.
