Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is seeking a Machine Operator to join our production team. You will mechanically combine raw materials, operate a computer-controlled system, and monitor equipment to ensure quality and efficiency in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and overtime including weekends/holidays. Weekly pay and opportunities to grow within a dynamic manufacturing setting are provided.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of production plant experience preferred.
Able to read English and follow directions; detail oriented.
Able to lift 50 pounds and work in dusty/hot/cold environments; overtime including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

Operate a computer controlled production system for multiple raw material ingredients in a mix room.
Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision.
Maintain good housekeeping standards in the assigned area.
Complete daily job checklists and equipment checks/calibrations to maintain quality.
Maintain accurate records of raw materials, samples and equipment operations.
Operate a forklift to transport materials.
Perform safety audits on equipment.
Set up machines at the start of shift and recalibrate/maintain them.
Monitor machines during procedures to ensure optimum performance.
Troubleshoot problems during machine operation and ensure regular maintenance.
