Job summary

The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company is seeking a Machine Operator at one of our production facilities. The role involves operating a computer controlled production system to mix and process raw materials, performing daily checks, and maintaining machines and records. The position supports safety standards, housekeeping, and orderly operations.

Starting pay is $22.50 per hour with weekly pay. Overtime may be required, and benefits including health, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, and stock purchase

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of production plant experience preferred.
• Identify materials used; detail oriented; follow safe practices and directions.
• Work in dusty/hot/cold/rainy environments; lift 50 pounds; climb ladders; stand all day.
• Willing to overtime including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer controlled production system for multiple raw material ingredients.
• Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the area.
• Complete daily job checklists and equipment calibrations.
• Maintain records of raw materials, samples and equipment operations.
• Operate a forklift to transport materials.
• Perform safety audits on equipment.
• Set up machines at start of shift; calibrate and recalibrate.
• Monitor machines during production; troubleshoot issues.
• Ensure preventative maintenance is carried out.
• Maintain activity logs and downtime sheets.
