Job summary

Scotts Miracle-Gro is hiring a Machine Operator in Alabama. This hourly role follows a pay progression and starts at $22.50 per hour with weekly pay. The operator will mechanically combine raw materials, manage mixing of solutions, and ensure quality during production.

You will run computer controlled production systems, perform routine checks, maintain records, and operate a forklift as needed. Overtime including weekends may be required and safety training is emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of production plant experience preferred.
• Able to read English and follow directions; detail oriented; ability to read and follow safety procedures.
• Able to work in dusty environments and withstand hot/cold/weather; lift 50 pounds; climb ladders; stand for long periods.
• Willingness to work mandatory overtime including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate a computer controlled production system for multiple raw material ingredients.
• Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the assigned area.
• Complete daily job checklists and equipment checks/calibrations.
• Maintain accurate records of raw materials, samples, and equipment operations.
• Operate a forklift to transport materials.
• Perform safety audits on equipment.
• Set up machines at shift start and calibrate for proper operation.
• Monitor machines during procedures to ensure quality output.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and ensure preventative maintenance.
